Divine Walk

Walk with Jesus. Let Him rock your world.

Even on the worst of days, LORD Jesus, You shine brightly.  Your Words give me peace, rest and hope.   I find joy in doing Your will; in obeying Your commands.  I LOVE TO GIVE LOVE.  I love to tell the world that in You there is NEW LIFE!  I have found my heart's desire: Jesus Christ!  And I know, if you will BELIEVE and ask Him, He will be YOUR heart's desire too!  Come to Him just as you are, for there is no condemnation, no shame, no guilt at the cross!  Lay your BURDENS down;  be covered by the PRECIOUS BLOOD of the LAMB! And be washed white as snow!

Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.  Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool. 19 If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat.  20 But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Psalm 23

1  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

James 1:2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.   3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.  5 If you need wisdom, ask our generousGod, and he will give it to you.  He will not rebuke you for asking.

Weak Or Strong?

Posted by Mimi on April 25, 2011 at 1:58 PM Comments comments (0)

2 Corinthians 12:9 Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”  So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Paul says a great deal here, about the attitude we must take in our daily walk, and our weaknesses.  First, God is ALWAYS with us, including when we are struggling, be it a physical struggle, or financial, emotional ~ you name it, God is there!  If you are faithful to seek Jesus in times of pain, of weakness, you will learn to “take pleasure” in your weakness; for in your weakness, GOD is strong!  When we can learn to give God glory and praise, even through the darkest of storms, we become victorious THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!  Then, in Christ we may boast: a testimony of how He helps us to overcome our trials.

Do not be scared into submission.  Do not allow Satan to have the win.   When you feel you cannot move forward, ask Almighty God to BE your strength.   Rebuke Satan's efforts to sabotage God's work.  Bind fear, worry, doubt, anxiety, anger, and other destructive emotions, in Jesus name.  Ask God to pour His grace into your life, so that you may boast in HIS VICTORIOUS NAME, the name above all names, the LORD of Hosts, Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Our Savior, Jesus Christ!

My Father's Business

Yesterday was a rough day, very heavy; I was thankful I had no classes to attend.  Last night as I gathered my Bible and journal, I asked what God wanted to talk about.  The answer was: "My Business".  What exactly is Your business, LORD, and how may I be about Your business?

Here was the flood of response:

Intercession and prayer. Stretching and growing.  Fishing.  Serving.  LOVING.  Humility.  Caring.  Praising.

FILL THE ROOMS.  "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)

Each time God fans the flame, the blaze (God's Kingdom and children) grows larger, stronger.

revival ==> Revival ==> REVIVAL ==> REVIVAL

Pick up your cross and follow Jesus.  Use your gifts.  Bear fruit.

THE WORK OF GOD IS THAT YOU BELIEVE... Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." (John 6:29)

Giving.  Healing.  Encouraging and lifting one another up.

My debt was paid.  #FORGIVEN!

You never see anything that is truly "FREE" these days.  Coupons are buy one get one free, free item with purchase, free upgrade, free shipping on $ or more purchases... but in the end, you still end up spending something, in order to get something for free.  Even if you do get a free coupon for a small in-store item, you are still likely to spend money when you go in to redeem it - that is, IF you even go get that free small soda, or small fry, etc.

However, there IS something, a spectacular gift that is better than anything you could ever imagine, and it is YOURS for the taking!  That's right folks: JESUS IS FREE TO YOU AND ME!  He did come at a price, a very high price to Himself and to God the Father, for Jesus was the perfect sacrifice sent to die for mankind.  But God loved us SO much, Jesus loves us SO much, that HE came to die in our place ~ to pay the price of sin and death once and for all!

Satan only has power over that which is his.  If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior, then Satan has his way with you.  However, once you have accepted Jesus into your heart, and asked Him to forgive you and lead you in HIS path, know without a doubt that Jesus is right there with you through every trial.  Every struggle is not to bring you down, but to build you up!

Once you are clothed in Christ, Satan's attacks become futile.  Any hurt, trial, struggle, hurdle he tries to trip you up with, will only become stepping stones for you to build your faith, and to glorify God.  When you walk with God, HE will be your strength, your peace, and your joy.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Patiently Waiting

Posted by Mimi on March 11, 2011 at 1:20 PM Comments comments (0)

I am not too sure what to even say, but am just feeling so thankful, grateful and blessed today, to have the honor of calling the LORD God Almighty my Father!  My Daddy.  And, after much time spent giving up on what *I* want, God is beginning to let me see all that He wants for me. The blessings He would give me.  I am learning to patiently wait on the LORD.   Learning to BE patient, taking joy in the moments I have, before it is the time for God to give.

God is the Giver.  Of what?  Everything!  Give up those things you would plan for yourself, and ask to see what GOD wants to give you!  His vision is heavenly!  Then all there is left to do is wait.  Wait with joyful anticipation, expectation, and excitement!   Cease to worry.  Instead, grow your patience!  This world has nothing for you, but God wants to give you the world!

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Micah 7:5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. 7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Victory In Jesus!

Posted by Mimi on March 8, 2011 at 7:29 PM Comments comments (1)

Victory in Jesus is not about winning every time.  Victory in Jesus is about seeing past the current struggle, and taking joy that one day it will be behind you.  Victory in Jesus is about taking joy in life, because life is what you make of it; and looking forward to what lies ahead, not what is holding you back, or what has gone wrong.

Victory in Jesus is leaving your needs in God's capable hands, and trusting that there is something to be learned from everything we go through - trial and triumph.  Those who trust in the LORD of Hosts will one day reign victorious, with the King of Kings.

Jesus lives.

Take yo win.

What A Wonderful Counselor!

I will be very clear: as soon as I feel a worrisome thought creep into my head, I am learning to immediately release the thought to God.  If a problem arises, I am learning to (instead of saying "How will I solve this?") say "God, I am in your hands.  You will lead me through, please show me the way."   The more I do this, the easier it becomes.   I cease to seek my own solutions.   Instead I seek God's solution.

These days, my prayer is mostly: God, you know what I need.  Please show me what I need to see, when I need to see it, and give me understanding at the right time - Your time.  Keep me humble and full in your love.

I do pray for specific things as they arise, but as far as my personal prayers go, I just am asking God to show me the way.  I just wake up and surrender, first thing, and declare each day to be the LORD's day, that He would be glorified through my thoughts, words and actions.  I tell you, God has shown me how to live, so I can share what I have learned.  I know that most Christians go through life without ever living so fully in Christ, because I used to be one!  I grew up in a family and church full of them!  Not that there's anything particularly wrong with simply living as a Christian, but that's not how God would have us live.

If you are not living fully for Christ, you are not living to your full potential.  GOD is the only way to reach your full potential, and He will only bring up those who wish to get there.  If you are willing to commit everything to God, He is faithful to bring you more [blessings, wisdom, comfort ~ what do you need?] than you will ever need.  We all have different needs, and God is there to fill them all.

How amazing is the LORD our God, who is able to give me His undivided attention; that He would bend down to hear my cries, and that He would care so much for me, to die for me?  How much more amazing, that He has done the same for you, and for all believers everywhere!

Walking In The Spirit (By Bob Hoekstra)

Posted by Mimi on February 25, 2011 at 1:25 PM Comments comments (0)

This is from the Feb. 25, 2011 daily e-votion from Blue Letter Bible, Day by Day Grace.  I didn't write any of this, but this is what life is all about ~ Walking the walk.  I couldn't not share the whole thing:

Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh…If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16, 25)

The term "walk" is used dozens of times in the New Testament to describe the manner of life a person is leading. Many of these occurrences depict the Christian life: "walk in love… walk as children of light… walk circumspectly" (Ephesians 5:2, 8, 15). In our passages, we are told to "walk in the Spirit."

Walking is a very insightful description of spiritual life. A walk has a beginning and a destination. Our beginning was in new birth: "born of the Spirit" (John 3:6). Our destination is heaven forever with our Lord and Savior: "And thus we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:17). A good walk is steady and progressive. We are called to be faithful: "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21). We are called to press ahead: "forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal" (Philippians 3:13-14). In addition, a walk has many potential adventures along the way. We are likely to encounter stretching challenges and paradoxical blessings: "in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness…as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things" (2 Corinthians 6:5, 10).

Ultimately, a walk must have an available resource that provides sufficient vitality, strength, guidance, and assurance. Here, our passages offer special hope through the injunction to "walk in the Spirit." Day by day, each step of the way, we are to rely upon the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Every issue of life (whether at home, office, school, or church) is to be faced in this manner. Otherwise, the influence of our flesh (our natural humanity) will prevail. "Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." In ourselves we are not able to overcome the inadequacies and improper tendencies of the flesh. However, the Holy Spirit is more than able to become our sufficient provider of whatever we need for an effective and fruitful walk.

This perspective on Christian living makes complete biblical sense, when we connect our daily walk to how we found spiritual life in the first place. "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." It was strictly by the work of the Spirit that we received life initially; therefore, let us take each step of life, "walk[ing] in the Spirit."

Lord God Almighty, I am so weak and so easily enticed in my flesh. I cannot produce what is needed for the spiritual walk to which I am called. O Lord, I cry out to You for the indispensable work of Your Spirit within me. Lord, teach me to walk day by day by the grace that Your Spirit alone can provide, Amen.

I'm tired of being misrepresented.. misunderstood as a Christian.  I won't lie, I used to be a part of it... before I was convicted... then I turned to Him, and now He works on me every day.  That doesn't make it any easier, though, to be though of as:

Man, there's athiests (a lot of them) who know more about the Bible, and about God, than some of my Bretheren!  I'm not trying to be critical, but OPEN YOUR EYES, because if I see that one is not serving God, they will too!!  And what do they do??  They talk about us!  Not that I care what they say, but their words slice through the hearts of someone unknowing, or not-yet-strong in their faith...

We must be better than that!  We are to share God's message with the world!  Here's how He go:

Jesus died, and rose from the grave, so whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.  I.E. go to Heaven.  No strings attached, just ask Jesus into your heart to stay, and believe in Him.  That's the Salvation.

Now, if you forget about Him, and get caught up in a mess of sinful living (which doesn't necessarily mean breaking laws; pride, selfishness, lust, greed, vindictiveness, etc are sin!), and you haven't been in prayer, or in the Word, or praising, or seeking His path of righteous living, or having anything to do with Jesus AT ALL for a time (could be short, could be long..) and He comes back.... well, He won't know you then.

The key to keeping your Salvation is also in Christ; seeking Him, and His way for your life.  Salvation is not found in church (although you could be saved there), or in saying you are a Christian, or in your family's faith.... you are responsible for your relationship with the Father.

So, assuming you choose to follow Christ, you will get to Heaven one day.  That's the day we all get to account for all our "wrongdoings" (ie sin-chasing) here on Earth.  I don't know about you, but I don't want a huge laundry list to go over with God!  Mine's plenty big already!

That's our motivation to do right.. our motivation to turn from sin, and seek God's face.  I don't try not to sin because I want to be perfect ~ I couldn't!  I try not to sin, because 1) it doesn't bring my Father glory; 2) I owe Him more than selfishness.  He gave His life for me, so I give mine to Him.  I can't die on a cross, but I died to myself.  In all I do, if God is not at the end of the path, it is not the right path.  When I look that way, and see only myself, or what I can gain, or how I will be pleased.... it is not His way.

God's way brings me closer to Him, and closer to Love.

I seek to live for Christ, for this glorifies the Father.  This is our motivation to seek out opportunities to do good... to serve others joyfully.  I believe God smiles when we bear fruit.  I smile when my kids make me proud... when they honor me... so why wouldn't God smile when we honor Him through our lives?  I want to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant."

And believe it or not, in all of my ramblings, it is only because I want you to be there, too.  I can't stop saying it: Jesus Saves!

Are You The One?

Who are you?  Are you the one who doesn't have to study?  Who doesn't have to pray?  Who doesn't have to seek guidance?  Who doesn't have to repent?  Are you the one who doesn't need Jesus?

Who are we to say we do not need any of these things?  Who are we to say we don't need to spend more time with God?  Who are we to say we don't need to be in regular fellowship with other Believers?  Who are we to spit on Jesus sacrifice?

We all need Jesus.  We all need more of Him, and less of ourselves.  We all need to be humbled, and to remember our Live for Him today.  Make a commitment to seek His way in every thought, word, and action.  Make a change.  Glorify your Creator.

Made to honor (John 5:21)

John 5:21 For just as the Father gives life to those he raises from the dead, so the Son gives life to anyone he wants. 22 In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, 23 so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father...

God does not see human beings the way we see each other, full of shortcomings and faults.  No, God loves each and every human on the planet, no matter who their devotion is to, and no matter what they have or have not done. He wants to see us all in Heaven – that's why He sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins!   When we choose life – when we choose Jesus – God sees us through the Son Himself. God no longer sees our sins; instead He sees us as His Beloved Children.

Thank You for choosing us for Your Kingdom, Father.  May our lives shine brightly for You, through our thoughts, words and actions, that You may be glorified. These things we ask in Jesus Name, Amen.

Seeds sown WILL grow!

Revelation 3:8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door [to advance the Kingdom of God] that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

READ: God will work through any effort you give to share the Gospel, and to advance the Kingdom of God. Even when you don't see the result, seeds sown WILL grow!

I am a results driven person.  All my life I have enjoyed being employed, so that I could count on a paycheck for my efforts.  I used to expect verbal accolaids for works that I deemed "well done"; accomplishments I had achieved "on my own".  I chose paths towards physical and financial burdon before turning to God.  He is faithful though, and showed me how He will make all things work towards His own good.  When we, as Children of the King who acknowledge and accept Jesus Christ as our One and Only LORD and Savior, choose to seek and do God's will in our own lives, God Almighty will bless that effort.

When we put our faith in God and accept Jesus into our hearts (or rededicate ourselves to Him), God will guide our lives.  He will send His angels to protect us, and He will not let the enemy (Satan) hurt us; see Psalm 91.  God will save you from a bad situation, WHEN you submit to His will for the situation and for your life (your ministry for the Kingdom in the manner in which HE leads you, for we all have different gifts!).  Understand, God already knows when each of us will choose to live for Him; it is already in His plan, and He is not surprised when we turn from our worldly ways and seek to be His vessels.

God is waiting for you to choose to Live for Christ!  He has a plan for you that is far greater than any plan you have for yourself.  His plan for you is already complete, it is up to you to heed His calling.  Through prayer and reading the Bible, you can gain a better understanding of God's plan for you.  You can also read about spiritual gifts in the Bible, if you are not sure of your gift.

Here is a website to read more about spiritual gifts; it is not an end-all, be-all, but it is a good place to gain understanding about the different types of gifts.  Check it out to see which ones you might have, so you can research in the Bible and pray about them.

Blue Letter Bible is an awesome site that probably has the answer to any Bible question you have, and can definately point you in the direction of verses RE spiritual gifts, plus any other topic that you feel led to read about.

You are ready!  There is no better time than now.  Ask God to show you what you can do for Him... how you can bless Him by bringing glory to His name and increasing His Kingdom!

LORD Jesus, thank You for choosing me, and saving me.  I am honored to share Your message to any and all who will hear it, whether online or on a phone or in person, thank You for giving me Your Spirit that gives me the words and the prayers.  All of this I do, so that You may be given Glory, and Your name would be known throughout the earth!  But most of all, I long to hear you say Well done, good and faithful servant.  I love You LORD Jesus!  Amen.

Jesus Prays.. John 17

John 17

Jesus Prays to Be Glorified

1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.  2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.  3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.  5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.  7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.  8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them.  They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.  9 I pray for them.  I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.  10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.  11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you.  Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.

12 "While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.  13 I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.  14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.  15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.  16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.  19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 “My prayer is not for them alone.  I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.  May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.  24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me.  26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
