ALL The Time??

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Few verses in the Bible are this precise.  Verse 16: Rejoice always. Verse 17: Pray continually. Verse 18: Give thanks in ALL circumstances... Recall that the Holy Bible is the living, breathing Word of God. What do these verses tell you?   Do they say: Rejoice when good things happen?  Pray when you feel like it?  Give thanks when things go your way?   No.

Each day, every situation and experience has been divinely placed in your life's path.  God is loving on you, teaching you, guiding you, and carrying you through it all.  He sent Jesus to walk with you.  So take His hand and REJOICE ALWAYS, for God has blessed you beyond measure.  Take His hand and PRAY CONTINUALLY, for in His sacrifice and His supplications to the Father, Jesus Christ has secured your future.  Take His hand, and GIVE THANKS, for God knows you.  He knows your every need, your every desire, and He knows His plans for you - plans to prosper you and to do you no harm; to give you hope and a future (Jer 29:11).  Follow God, for He will fill you with love and joy, and He will make your path wide.

In everything, Rejoice, Pray, and Give Thanks.

Weak Or Strong?

2 Corinthians 12:9 Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”  So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Paul says a great deal here, about the attitude we must take in our daily walk, and our weaknesses.  First, God is ALWAYS with us, including when we are struggling, be it a physical struggle, or financial, emotional ~ you name it, God is there!  If you are faithful to seek Jesus in times of pain, of weakness, you will learn to “take pleasure” in your weakness; for in your weakness, GOD is strong!  When we can learn to give God glory and praise, even through the darkest of storms, we become victorious THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!  Then, in Christ we may boast: a testimony of how He helps us to overcome our trials.

Do not be scared into submission.  Do not allow Satan to have the win.   When you feel you cannot move forward, ask Almighty God to BE your strength.   Rebuke Satan's efforts to sabotage God's work.  Bind fear, worry, doubt, anxiety, anger, and other destructive emotions, in Jesus name.  Ask God to pour His grace into your life, so that you may boast in HIS VICTORIOUS NAME, the name above all names, the LORD of Hosts, Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Our Savior, Jesus Christ!

My Father's Business

Posted by Mimi on April 21, 2011 at 12:28 PM Comments comments (0)

Yesterday was a rough day, very heavy; I was thankful I had no classes to attend.  Last night as I gathered my Bible and journal, I asked what God wanted to talk about.  The answer was: "My Business".  What exactly is Your business, LORD, and how may I be about Your business?

Here was the flood of response:

Intercession and prayer. Stretching and growing.  Fishing.  Serving.  LOVING.  Humility.  Caring.  Praising.

FILL THE ROOMS.  "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)

Each time God fans the flame, the blaze (God's Kingdom and children) grows larger, stronger.

revival ==> Revival ==> REVIVAL ==> REVIVAL

Pick up your cross and follow Jesus.  Use your gifts.  Bear fruit.

THE WORK OF GOD IS THAT YOU BELIEVE... Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." (John 6:29)

Giving.  Healing.  Encouraging and lifting one another up.

My debt was paid.  #FORGIVEN!

USE Your WORDs

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Choose your words carefully.  Choose them with precision, heeding the direction and guidance of Your Father.  Stay in the Word.  A spoken word.  Speak the Word Over your life.  Speak the Word over strongolds.  Speak blessings.  Speak protection.  Speak love.  Speak fruitfully.  Speak in VICTORY.  SPEAK JESUS.

Speak Truth.  Speak Praise.  Speak with God-given authority.  SPEAK UP.

God told me to use my words Sunday night, when I journaled the above.  Since then, He has shown me these scriptures (in devotional books, and randomly flipping open the Bible).  GOD IS INFINITELY AMAZING, THE LORD ALMIGHTY REIGNS SUPREME!  JEHOVAH SHALOM, YOU ARE MY PEACE!

1 John 5:14 We are certain that God will hear our prayers when we ask for what pleases Him.  15 And if we know that God listens when we pray, we are sure that are prayers have ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED.

Daniel 10:12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.

Hosea 10:12 Plow your fields, scatter seeds of justice, and harvest faithfulness.  Worship Me, the LORD, and I will send my saving power down like rain.

Patiently Waiting

Posted by Mimi on March 11, 2011 at 1:20 PM Comments comments (0)

I am not too sure what to even say, but am just feeling so thankful, grateful and blessed today, to have the honor of calling the LORD God Almighty my Father!  My Daddy.  And, after much time spent giving up on what *I* want, God is beginning to let me see all that He wants for me. The blessings He would give me.  I am learning to patiently wait on the LORD.   Learning to BE patient, taking joy in the moments I have, before it is the time for God to give.

God is the Giver.  Of what?  Everything!  Give up those things you would plan for yourself, and ask to see what GOD wants to give you!  His vision is heavenly!  Then all there is left to do is wait.  Wait with joyful anticipation, expectation, and excitement!   Cease to worry.  Instead, grow your patience!  This world has nothing for you, but God wants to give you the world!

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Micah 7:5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. 7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Victory In Jesus!

Posted by Mimi on March 8, 2011 at 7:29 PM Comments comments (1)

Victory in Jesus is not about winning every time.  Victory in Jesus is about seeing past the current struggle, and taking joy that one day it will be behind you.  Victory in Jesus is about taking joy in life, because life is what you make of it; and looking forward to what lies ahead, not what is holding you back, or what has gone wrong.

Victory in Jesus is leaving your needs in God's capable hands, and trusting that there is something to be learned from everything we go through - trial and triumph.  Those who trust in the LORD of Hosts will one day reign victorious, with the King of Kings.

Jesus lives.

Take yo win.

And Don't Forget!

Posted by Mimi on March 3, 2011 at 12:28 PM Comments comments (0)

I just had the most amazing experience, and have a message to share: Don't forget to ask God to bless you!  I have been trying for over a year to reduce and eliminate stress in my life, by giving situations over to God, and by learning how to take care of myself.  Yes, caring for my temple is an important part of maintaining a low-stress environment!  When we are unhealthy, we are not equipped to handle stress, because our bodies are trying just to keep us from being diseased, sick, and broken.  Have you ever noticed that when you are not eating well, not exercising, overworking, and over-stressing, you seem to get sick a lot more?  Maybe you stay sick?

I was very sick... but God healed me!  This last year has been such an eye-opener, and such an inspiration to me, that my life went from "I wonder if this is going to be it... if I am destined to be crippled for the rest of my life?" to "I HAVE EVERYTHING TO LIVE FOR!!!  AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I HURT TODAY!!!!!!!"  I had to take a healh and fitness class fall term, because it was going to be required to get a degree from PCC.  There, I got back into stretching, and into regular cardio, endurance and strength training, and I felt so much better.  I thank God for rescuing me from an evil workplace (literally, a lot of folks who work there were either wiccan or Christian haters, etc.,).

I thank Him that my new job is to learn about Him, to learn about people, and to share the message of Jesus Christ with people.  I thank Him that I had to take that health class, so that I would have a jump-start back into regular exercise again, after physical therapy earlier in the year.  I thank Him that I always did home exercise videos after giving birth (Tae-Bo after Adrian, and Yogalates after Millena), and walked, so that I would know it makes me feel better, to have regular exercise and stretching.  I thank Him that after Millena, I was obsessed with losing baby weight; as a result, I learned how to enjoy eating raw and whole foods, so now this change back to whole foods is an easy transition.

I am thankful that last April, when I began reading the Bible, I stopped by the book section in Goodwill one day, and found "The Prayer of Jabez", by Bruce Wilkinson.  I am thankful that God taught me to ask for my blessings, because that is what I've been doing ever since I read this verse:

"Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, 'Oh that Thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast [territory], and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!' And God granted him that which he requested." 1 Chronicles 4:10

Now, the book even says that you might not be able to handle praying the prayer every day.  Some days I feel like that.  Not that I don't want more blessings, but territory can get overwhelming :/.  However, I love this verse, because it shows that even for a man who only starred in a few Bible verses, Jabez knew how to touch God's heart; Jabez figured out that if he asks God for what God wants to give, then He will.  God is faithful!

Just now, I got done exercising.  I started doing the Yogalates video again, last month.  I realized that I don't have to be so rough on myself, trying to do all of the fitness things I want to do, right now.  Notice how I said "I"?  God is faithful.  God is my strength.  I know God can do more wonders on my body than any video, so I know that I can trust Him to make me strong again, by just being faithful to do the video.  There are four exercises, about 12 minutes each.  I don't have to commit to doing them all, every day.  I just need to do one, on three days.  If I get in to do one, I will usually do three.  And when I regularly exercise, I usually want to do it every day.  If I will just do a little bit, God will do a lot.

As soon as I was done with the video I came to plug my phone in, next to my bed.  I nearly fell to my knees, the need to pray was so strong!  As soon as my hands were folded, head bowed, my ears were filled with muffled static... like a buzzzz but only wwsshhhshshshhhsh.  I couldn't hear anything.  I couldn't think anything.  I could only think that God is here.  God is going to speak.  I didn't know if I needed to pray for someone, so I got about two names out before it was clearly not that.

"Blessings".  Who needs blessings?  Yes, I prayed blessings over the house, the family, the kids, Rico... all of this today, this morning already.  "Blessings.  Your blessings."  MY BLESSINGS!  YES, LORD, PLEASE BLESS ME!!!  PLEASE BLESS ME TODAY, LORD!!!

As soon as I spoke those words: Bless me today, LORD, the sound stopped.  The prayer was prayed.  Now I am here to share the message.  I am so excited too, because my first thought was: YAY something to blog about!!!  Instead of posting the Jabez verse on FB ;).

God is good.  Amazing.  Amazing isn't even good enough.  Supercalifragilisticexpialidotious.  And then some.  He's Heavenly.  He's my Dad :D.

Work For The LORD

Posted by Mimi on February 25, 2011 at 4:06 PM Comments comments (0)

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.  It is the LORD Christ you are serving.

In assuming this perspective, it is extremely difficult to wallow in misery.  If you are wallowing, it is only because you have chosen to do so.  No matter our situations: no matter how financially strapped you are, or how dysfunctional your family is, or how much you loathe your job, or a thousand other problems we could wallow in, GOD is whom we should be working for!

When GOD is at the center of what you are doing, rest assured God is doing wonderous things within you and for you.  When you strive to please God in every decision, in every daily action, you will find Him, and in Him all of the love, joy and fulfillment your soul will ever need.  It will no longer matter if you are low on cash, because you will be spiritually rich!  You will be infinitely blessed beyond measure to know your Heavenly reward is waiting: eternal life with God in Heaven!  It will no longer matter that your family is falling apart, for you are a part of God's family, which is all the family you will ever need.  It will no longer matter that your job stinks, because working for God, there is only open opportunity.

There are endless opportunities for God to work in your life, for both His good will and for your own benefit.  Open your heart to Him today.  Begin serving LORD Jesus today, and let Him take you to places you could never imagine.

My Friend

I actually wrote this to a friend the other day, but ever since have been feeling that someone else could use it too...

OK well if you don't know by now, I'm gonna cut to the chase; also, I Iike to "fix" things, lol. It drives Rico nuts, but I must share how I got better!  God works :-) [internet] sure isn't the right medium for some of this, but hey it's here ;-).  I've spent the better part of the last year just getting better.  So that's what I suggest you do: worry about you!  Get greedy!

Yourself is important, the most important in fact, because you are in charge of your relationship with God!  Get greedy for time with God.  If you like music, listen to [Christian] music you like. Youtube is great for seeing what artists you like.  Also 1041thefish.com has a bunch of music videos from the artists they play.

Read the Bible, if you don't already. One Year Bible Online is awesome.  If you already do daily Bible study, even better.  But for sure, you need to read the Word, because the Word is God, and God speaks to us through His word.  So dig in, as much or as little as you can, but try to read some Bible every day.

On prayer. I had to read books on prayer to figure out how it works lol.  But here's the idea:

Forgiveness is a must.  Prayers won't be heard by God if we are harboring unforgiveness. However, God WILL hear our cries for help.  He will help you forgive.  He will give you a forgiving spirit, and replace any hate / resentment / guilt or anything with love for yourself, and anyone who has hurt you / your family.  You must ask for His help with this.  Forgiveness is so freeing.  Once I started to forgive people who I was harboring bad feelings towards, and when I forgave myself for my own poor actions, I started to see people differently.  I started to feel bad for people who were so mean, because I understood that they are just hurting themselves.

God showed me even more people that I needed to forgive, too - ones I didn't even know I secretly had bad feelings towards. And now I can honestly say I don't have negative feelings for people anymore.  Yes, I can get mad, but I don't harbor bad feelings.  I am able to forgive, even when the offender isn't remorseful. I know that God has forgiven me for everything I have, and ever will do against Him, and he calls me to be just as forgiving.

There is a lot that probably cannot be changed in your life - stuff you yourself cannot do anything to change.  But prayer is unleashing the power of God to do mighty things in your life.  Ask God to heal you.  Ask God to show Himself to you.  Speak these things out loud.  Speak scriptures that you like, speak them over yourself and your family.  Ask God to bless the people who have hurt you and your family, and ask that He would work a miracle in their life.  Ask God to give you love like He has.

I know this is a lot just kind of bla at ya. I'm not saying either, that you should do all of this right now!  But these are things I know, if you are able to start with one small change, then you WILL get closer to God.  We have to seek Him before He can be found. Start chasing God, whichever way you enjoy best.  But most of all, seek to just bless God by telling Him how much you do love Him and want Him close, and how much you need Him.  When we are broken and needy, that is when we are most "attractive" is the Bible word used :-) God is drawn to brokenness, so don't be afraid to cry.  Crying feels really good sometimes.

Just focus on God and you.  Forgiveness will make the hurts go away, and it will give you the strength to make more changes. Just take baby steps.

Git-R-Done

I am a person of action – I like to see results – this is no secret.  However, for the longest time in my life, it seemed like the harder I tried by myself, the more I pushed, and the more I struggled to “accomplish”, the fewer results I would see.  Less forward motion, more problems, more hurt, regression, and eventually, defeat. I always came back to God, but I would always stray again.  I never understood why until today.

Through this last year I have been going through a lot of changes, as I have learned to release control of my life into God’s hands.  This has been a very long, hard journey; but now, I am blessed to know I came back for the last time.  I understand that God has the answer for everything, and is able to give me everything I need, and more.  He is my soul's answer for love, comfort, acceptance, encouragement, strength, spiritual nourishment… Jesus is my everything.

Now that I have found Him, really found out who God is to me, and what He has done in my life, I say with certainty that I will not go back; I do not need creature comforts to fulfill my needs.  I have experienced the joy, peace, love, and rest that is in Christ Jesus.  When the world turned is back on me, when I was drowning in despair, God was there.  He gave me hope.  He gave me a promise, that one day, no matter what I have to go through to get there, I will have a place with Him in Paradise!

Just writing this is overwhelming, as I remember the hardships I have faced, and realizing a place without pain or tears or sadness.  Realizing that one day, if it is today or many years from now, I will have a perfect, holy body, the way God created and intended for me.

Thank You, LORD, for everything!

He promises this to you, too!  There is so much hurt in this world, but you do not have to hurt anymore!  Instead, you can have joy, and you can BE a source of joy for someone who is hurting!  Wouldn’t you love to be overflowing with love?  Choose to seek God - to chase His presence – that He would be with you always, through every challenge and every victory; that He will be given the glory for all He has given you, for even lessons are blessings.

When I chose to seek God, to actively seek HIS change in my life, I began to see more results than I had ever seen!  I saw changes in myself, changes in my family, changes in the way I saw other people and the world, changes in how I should be… Now that I am outwardly living for Christ, I can see a lot more results :D and this is SO exciting and fulfilling!

As I try to seek God in all that I do, He keeps me from temptation, and gives me strength not to give in.  Now, I know, what I need is not in things that will pass away.  What I need is Light.  I need Jesus.  Since this factor will never change, I realize that He is the only input I will ever need.  Jesus in = Joy out.

What are you putting in?

Let God Be Your Guide

Psalm 25:4 Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.  5 Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.  All day long I put my hope in you.

God is so good to His children, so loving, so faithful, and so willing to guide all who come to Him. Place your cares, your needs, your desires, your hopes, your dreams, and your future, into God's hands.  God is more than capable of showing you more joy, more love, and more blessings than you have ever imagined ~ but you must seek Him first!

Seek the Good Shepherd, for He is calling to you! Let Jesus guide your path, for Jesus is the true Bread of Life.  He is the living Word of God, and has everything you need to be filled, and overflowing with love.  There is no longer a reason to be lacking.  Seek God in all that you do, and your days will be filled with everlasting joy.

On Blessings

1 Chronicles 4:10 - Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

God will answer our prayers, no matter how large or small.  They will not always be a “yes” answer, or the answer that we would choose, but God DOES answer prayers, and He DOES have your best interest in mind! However, when we pray and seek things that are in line with His will, He opens the floodgates, and pours down His love and blessings.

Do not be afraid!  God wants to bless you, but we must request our blessings!  What good would it do us, and what would we ever learn, if God simply handed us everything we ever need on a silver platter?   We MUST seek Him, seek His will, and seek His protection and guidance.  We must submit to His plan.  We must ask to be blessed.  Then, we must be still, faithfully waiting for God to complete His will in our lives.

The Bible tells us to come to God in bold faith; not to fear in making requests to the Father, for in seeking His will instead of our own, God is glorified.  God is pleased when we submit to His will and calling.  He wants to bless you.  He wants to enlarge your territory – the territory He gave you, to shine brightly for Him. He wants to guide you, and to shelter you from harm's way.  He wants to give you all this, and more.  Cry out to God, for He hears you.

He Chose You

John15:18 “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world.  I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.

LORD, thank You for choosing me.  My life was nothing before You, filled with hurt and despair.  I tried so many things to fill the void, to mask the pain, and to no avail.  But then I sought You, and I found You.  You broke open the sky, and showers of mercy poured down on my life.  I was forever changed, and now I can't go back.  I will follow You!  Even if it means that the world hates me.  I will only be here for a time, but I will be with You forever, Jesus.  I live for this day.

Jesus keeps me.  I do not need approval from the world to know my worth.  I was bought at a great price ~ the same price that was paid for you!  Can you imagine giving your life for someone you haven't even met?  That's what Jesus did.  He gave His life, so that you and I might live.  He gave His life, so that one day we might see the pearly gates of Heaven!  He stepped down from His place in Glory, to save a wretch like me.  All that I am desires to bless His name!  I am torn, for I wish to spend all of my time right here, writing about my love for my Savior, JESUS CHRIST!

I suppose I am reaching out, too.  I feel so pressed to learn and share more about God, to the point that I am considering full time ministry somewhere, somehow.  What would I do?  I have no idea, but My Father does.  Do you ever feel this way?  I know I have Salvation, and that I can never repay Christ for HIs time on the cross, but will this urging in the depths of my soul ever relent?  Each moment away from my LORD feels like an eternity, and I fail to focus on life matters, for my yearning for Jesus consumes me.

Why is this?  Have I lost it?  Or have I finally found it?  Why do I tire of my life, though I am happy and blessed?  I can hardly concentrate, for I find myself daydreaming about Jesus.  How can I share more Jesus?  How can I reach more souls?  I can't... but He can... so I move forward.

I feel alone, but I am not.  I do not know what the future holds, save my future in Heaven.  I feel my efforts are for nought, though they aren't.  God is at work.  I trust He is at work in me, and He is at work in you.  The world will hate you if you choose to follow Jesus, but when you are in Him, you can only see His light... He will sustain you, and give you joy.

Counting Blessings

I just got back from picking up some firewood - mill ends, to be exact.  I didn't want to spend the time to drive from Milwaukie to Jantzen Beach to pick up the wood... acquiring firewood is not "my responsibility" in our home, plus I was doing homework, and it's raining, and it's going to be trafficky because it's Friday, and, and, and.....

I finally quit making excuses.  I swallowed my pride, squashed selfishness and set out to get the wood.  Want to know what I got?  Free firewood!!!!  :D 8)  Thank You Jesus!!!!!  I paid for some, of course, but when the loaders asked how much to load, the guy I paid told them to load more than I was supposed to get.  How many of ya'll gone to get something, paid for it, and got more than you paid for?  How often to give God the glory for that?

Jesus, You are my everything.  I need You in my life, every day, for life is not worth living without You.  In the words of Camus, "I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is".

God is real, and if you allow Him to, He will show you.  He will shower you with blessings beyond your imagination!  He will save you from death, wash away your tears, and fill you with everlasting Joy!  In Jesus, there is no pain or sadness.  In Jesus there is peace and rest for our weary souls.  Come to rest in Him.  Count your blessings, for if you have Salvation through Christ Jesus, you are divinely blessed by the Creator of the Universe.  You have a home waiting, in your Heavenly Father's house.  Jesus is waiting on God's word, the word that says He can bring His children home to live with Him in Paradise.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also...  6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  (KJV)

Game Over

Posted by Mimi on January 18, 2011 at 2:02 AM Comments comments (0)

Well, I was supposed to have four relaxing days off to write, but alas, Satan stomped all over my weekend.  However, that's OK!  Apparently God had other plans for me, other than writing for Him.  I'm so confused sometimes, but I just keep praying and seeking and watching and waiting.  Satan's stomping days will end soon enough, then it is HIS day that will be ruined!  Oh to see the day that sin will be no more, I can hardly STAND IT!  I want to go to HEAVEN!!!

Defeating Giants

1 Samuel 17:48 As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. 49 Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground.

The same God that was with David as he killed the giant, is with you today, as you face your giants. God promises never to leave us or forsake us.  He will guide us through every trial, every struggle, and every temptation, to keep us close to His heart.  Satan makes things to seem like giants in our lives, but when we put our trust in God, our giants will be defeated.  Jesus made this possible, when He gave His life for us on the cross.   Jesus resurrection means that Satan will not prevail; he does not win!  But it is you and I who win, through Jesus Christ, for when we believe in Him, He sets us free!

A Heavenly Place

Knees down, hands up.

No words required.

Revel in your Father's Grace.

See Him, as you seek His face.

Weeping, laughing, immeasurable joy,

Coming from deep within.

Filling my spirit, a tune to my song.

A prayer, a praise to the Lover of the lost.

My Jesus, My Shepherd.

Healer, Redeemer, Peace Giver.

Fill me today.

Keep me tomorrow.

Take me to a Heavenly Place.

He WILL!

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The LORD our God is faithful in every word He gives us.  He even sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come into the world as the Living Word; to share the gift of eternal life to all who believe in Him, and to all who are faithful to Him. God will not abandon His children, or leave them “out to dry”.

When it seems like the world is pulling you down, just look to the skies.  God is watching over you, lovingly guiding you through this trial, so one day soon you will be stronger.  One day soon you will be ready to take the next step, to take a leap of faith, and to fulfill God's plan in your life.  Never doubt that God's plan is Perfect, and His timing is Divine.  We are not to understand why we must persevere through this struggle.  We are not to worry about our future, for we are in His hands!

We ARE to focus on God, on seeking His will, and on fulfilling our calling as Christ's ambassadors. When we are ready to truly seek to honor Christ in every action, in every situation, God will bless our efforts.  When we acknowledge that we are nothing without Him, He helps us overcome obstacles; He helps us move our mountains. When we decide to fully trust in or Father's Divine Plan, He will carry us, and we will be soaring, “on wings like eagles” (Isaiah 41:31).

Psalm 18:28 You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.  29 With Your help I can advance against a troop [or can run through a barricade]; with my God I can scale a wall.  30 As for God, His way is perfect: The LORD’s Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. 31 For who is God besides the LORD?  And who is the Rock except our God?  32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.  33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights.  34 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

Sometimes the Word takes over.  Right before I set out for class, Psalm 18 came to my mind.  I had to send it out to the universe (FB), the urgency was so strong I was trembling!  Like that, I was off to school.  Then my car didn't start.  Two times, three.. I don't want to keep trying and kill the battery... so back in the house.

I was bummed.  I wasn't excited about the quiz, or about lecture, but I WAS excited to talk to Jim!  I met him last week at school, and we talked about Jesus.  I was flyin!  You see, I specifically DO NOT like talking about serious stuff with folks, so witnessing has always been daunting to me.  But I believe God set the place and the time for Jim and I to meet.  We had planned to meet before class today to study too.

I came inside and started to read Psalm 18 out loud.  Then I came here to start this post.  Then Jim called :).  We had a nice chat.  And now here I am sharing with you.  Who knows why my car isn't working?  Who knows why Psalm 18 needs to be shared?  God knows.  I believe, that is why I am here, sharing with everyone and no one at all.

God wrote the Bible to you.  Jesus Christ is the Word become flesh, and He lives in Glory with God in Heaven.  He is the reason to live.

I am writing for You, Father.  Please, LORD, keep my lamp burning.  Turn my darnkess into light.  With Your help, I will advance.  Your way is perfect, and Your word flawless; You are my shield and my refuge.  There is no one greater than You, God; You are my ROCK.  You keep me secure, and You train me to fulfill Your plan in my life.  I submit to You, LORD, for THERE IS NO ONE GREATER!

Message from my Dad...

God has His own special way of talking to His children.  He speaks directly to our hearts, in prayer and worship and other similar activities; but He also speaks through the words of another person, through a song, through a message (sermon or other teaching)... through His Word.

I began reading the Bible on April 1, 2010, on www.oneyearbibleonline.com.  I needed to read it, because, well, I felt like God wanted me to read it!  LOL.  Seriously though, at this time last year I was just learning that I have a bulging disc at the base of my spine, and at that point it was pressing on the nerves all the time.  Talk about misery!  I had to go through it though, because that's what it took for me to place my trust 100% in my gracious and loving Father, God.

I was in physical therapy for 2.5 months, ending in March.  During that time I was working from home, and listened to a LOT of Christian music.  I began seeking it more and more, and by the time I was finishing physical therapy I was thinking "I need to read the Bible... if I'm going to live for Christ, I HAVE to know everything God has to say to me!".  So I planned to read it, beginning on Easter.  I started with the April 1 reading, since it made sense and I could more easily track where I was.  There was a reason I didn't start with Genesis...

Fast forward six months.  I have been laid off (in July).  I have been to visit a lot of family, starting to talk about God in my life, and even started sharing scriptures with a friend.  When I knew I was going back to school, I felt burdoned to fast, so I did.  About 10 days into the fast (which I had a goal for 30 days .. silly girl) I felt God was telling me that I could stop fasting when I finished the Bible.  At this point, I had begun to read much more than one Bible selection per day.  I was almost there.

September 16th was the last day of my fast.  Recall that I was reading multiple sections per day.  When I woke up on September 16th, there were seven sections left for me to read, beginning with the March 25th reading.  Here was my message (including my own message to the friend who was receiving the scriptures).  I will never forget it:

Luke 6:39 Then Jesus gave the following illustration: “Can one blind person lead another? Won’t they both fall into a ditch? 40 Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher. (how fitting I read this today, when I am finishing The Book! I realized last week that this verse is WHY I needed to read it... I am dust!)

God is amazing.  His plan is perfect.  If I had started reading in Genesis, I would NOT have gotten THIS verse on the last day.  I would NOT have gotten the confirmation that I AM IN HIS WILL.  After that day, I haven't been the same.  You may have noticed :-).  It was after that day that I started using Facebook.  It was during that fast that I began this website. It was AFTER THAT DAY that I became bold in my faith, and confident in the work He laid out for me.

IT WAS GOD, ALL THE WAY.
