What Is Love?

Posted by Mimi on July 7, 2011 at 3:52 PM Comments comments (0)

Love is a term so easily used these days, but sadly, it is most often mis-used and abused. When we look in the Word of God for the definition of love, we find characteristics often forgotten in today’s society, where careless love is common, and true spiritual love is lost.

1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient

Love is kind.

It does not envy

It does not boast

It is not proud

5 It does not dishonor others

It is not self-seeking

It is not easily angered

It keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects

Always trusts

Always hopes

Always perseveres.

8 Love never fails.

These are the characteristics of true love, agape love… God’s love. This is the way God loves us, and it is why He sent Jesus to die for our sins, and to save us from death. This is the kind of love Jesus calls us to give to EVERYONE in our lives. Yes, everyone includes your noisy neighbors, the curt bank teller, the person that just cut you off on the freeway without signaling, and even the bum at the onramp!

John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

Jesus is very clear in his command that we love one another, as He loves us. When Jesus died on the cross, the new covenant of grace was ushered in ~ we who have accepted Christ as our LORD and Savior are no longer bound to the law of the land! We have been given a new law, and that is to GIVE LOVE! Unconditionally. Now, this is quite impossible on our own, but when we ask for God’s help – for an increase in love – we are sure to receive it.  As a bonus, "our joy [will] be complete" when we are living and loving as Christ intended, Jesus will take joy in US, we will be called Jesus friend, and our prayers will be answered (vs. 11, 14, 16)!  HALLELUJAH!

God is happy to give that which He wants to give, and He wants us all to have as much love for one another as He has for each and every person, ever. This leaves NO room for: impatience, unkindness, envy, pride, dishonor, selfishness, doubt, short-temper, grudges, evil, harm, and even quitting. Think of these things the next time you tell someone you love them, for if you state that you have love and you are harboring these feelings, you do not have true love.

Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Sometimes, it is just plain hard to give love, because we have not / are not truly being loved. Or perhaps we have had a distorted perception of love, and of what our earthly assignment is. No matter where we are at in our “love levels”, God is ever-ready to give us more. Seek Him in prayer, in the Word, and in praise, and thank Him for supernaturally increasing your ability to love as Jesus did, and for God’s honor. God has asked us to do this, and is sure to grant your request!

You may not see immediate results, but have faith that changes will come as God softens your heart and molds it into the likeness of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Practice loving your family and friends in patience and kindness, practice humility, forgiveness, and perseverance. Jesus is right here with you, ready to help you at every moment. We have to learn to give love, before we can receive it. Just as Jesus first loved us by His life on earth in the flesh, now we are called to give love because He loved us. So pour out some love today, and be amazed as God supernaturally increases your ability to give true love, In Him!

Even on the worst of days, LORD Jesus, You shine brightly.  Your Words give me peace, rest and hope.   I find joy in doing Your will; in obeying Your commands.  I LOVE TO GIVE LOVE.  I love to tell the world that in You there is NEW LIFE!  I have found my heart's desire: Jesus Christ!  And I know, if you will BELIEVE and ask Him, He will be YOUR heart's desire too!  Come to Him just as you are, for there is no condemnation, no shame, no guilt at the cross!  Lay your BURDENS down;  be covered by the PRECIOUS BLOOD of the LAMB! And be washed white as snow!

Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.  Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool. 19 If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat.  20 But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Psalm 23

1  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

James 1:2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.   3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.  5 If you need wisdom, ask our generousGod, and he will give it to you.  He will not rebuke you for asking.

ALL The Time??

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Few verses in the Bible are this precise.  Verse 16: Rejoice always. Verse 17: Pray continually. Verse 18: Give thanks in ALL circumstances... Recall that the Holy Bible is the living, breathing Word of God. What do these verses tell you?   Do they say: Rejoice when good things happen?  Pray when you feel like it?  Give thanks when things go your way?   No.

Each day, every situation and experience has been divinely placed in your life's path.  God is loving on you, teaching you, guiding you, and carrying you through it all.  He sent Jesus to walk with you.  So take His hand and REJOICE ALWAYS, for God has blessed you beyond measure.  Take His hand and PRAY CONTINUALLY, for in His sacrifice and His supplications to the Father, Jesus Christ has secured your future.  Take His hand, and GIVE THANKS, for God knows you.  He knows your every need, your every desire, and He knows His plans for you - plans to prosper you and to do you no harm; to give you hope and a future (Jer 29:11).  Follow God, for He will fill you with love and joy, and He will make your path wide.

In everything, Rejoice, Pray, and Give Thanks.

True Worship

Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.  2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

God loves it when His children come to truly worship. How is it, then, that worship can be degraded to a series of motions?  Why is it that so many Christians drag themselves to church to sing the “obligatory” hymns, instead of heartily crying out to YAHWEH, each day, in eternal gratitude for the love God has poured down?  When did worship become a part of the formula for church, instead of the greatest sacrifice of self?   GOD HAS GIVEN YOU EVERYTHING!

We should enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts, and into His courts with praise!  For each day, THIS DAY, is the day the LORD has made!  Sing with all of your might, wail from the depths of your soul, for the LORD God reigns supreme!  Bless the LORD, for He is good!  He has forgiven your sins, born your illness and disease.  He walks with you each day, ready to strengthen you in times of struggle, never failing in mercy and grace.  In God is everything we need and desire, an overflowing fountain of Life!  Worship God with everything that is within you, and never forget all He has done for you.  TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN!

In God's House

Psalm 84:10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

God's presence is so complete.  There is nothing that can compare to being in the presence of perfect love, joy, peace, hope and rest.  Once you have truly found His presence you will only want for more.   Nothing in this world is as glorious as communion with the Holy One, the Lion of Judah, Yea and Amen, I AM.  In Christ there is only promise, no matter what the world brings.  Remain in Him, that He would keep you safe from harm, and instead use you for His good will.

Has God been good to you?  Do you pursue Him each day with such zeal, that you would rather be a doorkeeper, a servant in God's house, than to “dwell in the tents of the wicked”?  Do you choose to glorify God with your thoughts, words and actions, over choosing sinful, ungodly behavior? Reflect and remember: GOD chose YOU.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you...” 8 And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you.  He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

What does it mean to be bold in faith?  Here are a few things that it means to me:

I know that God is at work within me. (Philippians 1:6, 1 Peter 5:10)

I am unashamed of the Gospel of Christ; it gives me the greatest joy so share God's message of LOVE with the world!

I do not care what the world thinks of me, for I am not of this world! (John 15:18-19)

Doubt has NO place here!

GOD'S WORD IS FINAL! (John 1:1-18)

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. (NIV)

Endurance Training

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Have you ever felt like if life doesn't let up soon, you know you are just going to have a mental breakdown?  I mean, if you have to keep jumping over hurdle after hurdle, problem after problem, that you might just stumble and fall, and lose the race?  Yet somehow, you never seem to fall.  Somehow, God always comes through at exactly the right moment ~ right before everything falls apart.  God never said this race would be easy.  Jesus showed us this when He came to live the perfect life in this sinful world, and to face death on the cross for His beloved children.

Jesus jumped over hurdle after hurdle, endured temptation after temptation, and overcame defeat after defeat ~ and His Father was right there with him, every time!  When Satan tempted Jesus, God was there.  Jesus only had to speak the Word, and tempation fled.  God is here for us in the same way today.  When temptation comes, when there is another hurdle to overcome, God is there.  He will not let us stumble and fall, as long as our eyes are fixed on Him, on seeking Him; as long as we are focused on the upward call of Heaven.  When we lose sight of Jesus, we will fall and sink.  However, God is ever-ready to stretch out His hand, and help us back onto the path.  Seek God in times of trial and temptation, and take rest in His promise: Jesus Christ.

Weak Or Strong?

Posted by Mimi on April 25, 2011 at 1:58 PM Comments comments (0)

2 Corinthians 12:9 Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”  So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Paul says a great deal here, about the attitude we must take in our daily walk, and our weaknesses.  First, God is ALWAYS with us, including when we are struggling, be it a physical struggle, or financial, emotional ~ you name it, God is there!  If you are faithful to seek Jesus in times of pain, of weakness, you will learn to “take pleasure” in your weakness; for in your weakness, GOD is strong!  When we can learn to give God glory and praise, even through the darkest of storms, we become victorious THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!  Then, in Christ we may boast: a testimony of how He helps us to overcome our trials.

Do not be scared into submission.  Do not allow Satan to have the win.   When you feel you cannot move forward, ask Almighty God to BE your strength.   Rebuke Satan's efforts to sabotage God's work.  Bind fear, worry, doubt, anxiety, anger, and other destructive emotions, in Jesus name.  Ask God to pour His grace into your life, so that you may boast in HIS VICTORIOUS NAME, the name above all names, the LORD of Hosts, Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Just Ask!

Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Have you ever felt like God has been awfully quiet lately?  Like perhaps, He has stopped listening to your prayers?  Have you considered that the problem may not be related to God's answers?  That the problem could be related to you?

God has said in His Word that when we ask for things that are in line with HIS will for us, we will receive them; when we seek HIS face, we will find Him; when we knock on the door of God's opportunity, that door will be opened wide.  However, if we don't ask the right questions, we won't get the answers we need.   We must learn to ask the right questions.  We must also be willing to accept the answer that God gives, for He does not always answer prayers in the way we request or expect.

Do not ask “What do I need to do”; instead, ask “What must be done?   What is YOUR will, LORD?   What isYOUR plan for me?”.  He will show you the way.  He will show Himself to you.  He will open your eyes, so you can see what He has been doing in your life all this time!  He will also show you all He is willing and able to do, once you have surrendered to His will.  Seek Christ, and He will show you joy and life.  He will open doors and tear downwalls for you.   But it all begins with a question.

My Father's Business

Posted by Mimi on April 21, 2011 at 12:28 PM Comments comments (0)

Yesterday was a rough day, very heavy; I was thankful I had no classes to attend.  Last night as I gathered my Bible and journal, I asked what God wanted to talk about.  The answer was: "My Business".  What exactly is Your business, LORD, and how may I be about Your business?

Here was the flood of response:

Intercession and prayer. Stretching and growing.  Fishing.  Serving.  LOVING.  Humility.  Caring.  Praising.

FILL THE ROOMS.  "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)

Each time God fans the flame, the blaze (God's Kingdom and children) grows larger, stronger.

revival ==> Revival ==> REVIVAL ==> REVIVAL

Pick up your cross and follow Jesus.  Use your gifts.  Bear fruit.

THE WORK OF GOD IS THAT YOU BELIEVE... Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." (John 6:29)

Giving.  Healing.  Encouraging and lifting one another up.

My debt was paid.  #FORGIVEN!

How To Be A Blessing

Posted by Mimi on April 14, 2011 at 12:58 AM Comments comments (0)

Matthew 25:40 The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

What a simple truth!  In order to be a blessing - a blessing to another person, to yourself, and most of all to God - all you must do is SOMETHING for another person.  The verse does not say how large or small the deed must be ~ only that it must be done.  "WHATEVER you did..."  When we remove ourselves from the equation, and all we are left with is the world around us, it is easy to see how much need there is.  However, we are often too wrapped up in our own agenda to fully acknowledge and appreciate people in our lives whose job is to serve us, like the grocery store clerk, the gas attendant, or the customer service representative at your utility company.

Take the time, starting today, to be a blessing to others.  You don't have to give a lot of money or time ~ in fact, you can give none at all!  Just as long as you take the time to place someone else before yourself, for this is the heart of the message: humble yourself in love, for you are loved.  Be kind, give a smile, hold the door, wave the next car in... there are countless opportunities to be a blessing in a day ~ all free!  When you do this small thing you have been a blessing to another human being.  However, it will not be considered a small thing when Jesus Christ accepts your blessing!  So give fully, in joy and love, and without expecting anything in return.  This is how Christ gives, and He came to be an example to us all.

Be a blessing.

You Don't Have Time??

Posted by Mimi on April 7, 2011 at 10:24 PM Comments comments (0)

I used to think "I don't have enought time", to give more time to God, to Jesus, and to the Holy Spirit of God living in me by His grace.  I never had enough time, until I learned to take it.  Where can you find more time to be with the LORD?  How can you seek His face, when there is so much to be done?  God will show you.  He knows where there is time in your schedule, and if you are willing to put Him first, He will give you all the time in the world.

At first I listened to Christian music, instead of secular, and not just music by Christian artists ~ music that glorifies God and Jesus, music that has their name throughout, and that will awaken the holy spirit inside of you.  This kind of music will speak to you, comforting, convicting, encouraging and strengthening you.  I also began to read the Bible through, so I could learn everything God has done, everything He will do, and everything He calls me to do.

God grew me, and called me to seek Him ever-more.  I am now hopelessly in love with, and addicted to, Jesus Christ, my Savior and LORD.  I am not content with a Sunday service, or even with a daily devotion time.  I want to be with Him always!  As a result, I can now take advantage of all the things I used to despise; of all the things that used to cause me worry or strife.  Here are some of the things I get to do, when I am singing praises to and / or communing with, Christ Jesus my LORD:

Wake up ~ thanking God for today, for His blessings, and asking blessings, guidance, and protection for today

Getting ready to go - showering and dressing, gathering homework, etc.

Preparing meals

Doing laundry

Really, any other household chore, indoor or out

Shopping ~ especially at the grocery store!

The extra five minutes before I have to be [fill in obligation], since I'm early!

While going to pick up a child who is sick, or (sigh) in trouble at school

Driving ~ especially in traffic!

While exercising, stretching, doing yoga, etc.

At the doctor's, or in the dental chair

Awaiting any other type of meeting, especially the ones you aren't "excited" about

While waiting for the gas attendent / DMV / DEQ / mechanic / etc. (I appreciate having a car!)

As you can see, there are SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES in the day for you to PRAISE LORD JESUS, instead of worry about the day, or fret about cost, or become frustrated at others, or become angry, or, or, or... wouldn't you love to glorify the LORD your God, every spare second you could?  I know, we have to draw the line somewhere, for we have families, jobs, activities - we have LIVES.  But in our quiet moments, to give them to God will always leave you infinitely blessed, for you will be living in the joy that is Jesus; in the peace of your promise of salvation, and at rest in His mercy and good grace.

You are in charge of your time, and what you do with it.  What are you choosing to put first, in the few moments you have alone, in your own head?  God?  Or other emotions or things that are actually sin?  I am not perfect, but in choosing to praise and seek God in these things, I am protected from the temptation and fall into these types of sins, as well as from plotting my own success ~ for I AM NOTHING WITHOUT CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you do not want to spend THAT much time with God, with Jesus who has saved your soul through His blood shed on the cross, perhaps you should ask yourself: what would you would rather spend this time with, if not with the LORD?

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Choose your words carefully.  Choose them with precision, heeding the direction and guidance of Your Father.  Stay in the Word.  A spoken word.  Speak the Word Over your life.  Speak the Word over strongolds.  Speak blessings.  Speak protection.  Speak love.  Speak fruitfully.  Speak in VICTORY.  SPEAK JESUS.

Speak Truth.  Speak Praise.  Speak with God-given authority.  SPEAK UP.

God told me to use my words Sunday night, when I journaled the above.  Since then, He has shown me these scriptures (in devotional books, and randomly flipping open the Bible).  GOD IS INFINITELY AMAZING, THE LORD ALMIGHTY REIGNS SUPREME!  JEHOVAH SHALOM, YOU ARE MY PEACE!

1 John 5:14 We are certain that God will hear our prayers when we ask for what pleases Him.  15 And if we know that God listens when we pray, we are sure that are prayers have ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED.

Daniel 10:12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.

Hosea 10:12 Plow your fields, scatter seeds of justice, and harvest faithfulness.  Worship Me, the LORD, and I will send my saving power down like rain.

You never see anything that is truly "FREE" these days.  Coupons are buy one get one free, free item with purchase, free upgrade, free shipping on $ or more purchases... but in the end, you still end up spending something, in order to get something for free.  Even if you do get a free coupon for a small in-store item, you are still likely to spend money when you go in to redeem it - that is, IF you even go get that free small soda, or small fry, etc.

However, there IS something, a spectacular gift that is better than anything you could ever imagine, and it is YOURS for the taking!  That's right folks: JESUS IS FREE TO YOU AND ME!  He did come at a price, a very high price to Himself and to God the Father, for Jesus was the perfect sacrifice sent to die for mankind.  But God loved us SO much, Jesus loves us SO much, that HE came to die in our place ~ to pay the price of sin and death once and for all!

Satan only has power over that which is his.  If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior, then Satan has his way with you.  However, once you have accepted Jesus into your heart, and asked Him to forgive you and lead you in HIS path, know without a doubt that Jesus is right there with you through every trial.  Every struggle is not to bring you down, but to build you up!

Once you are clothed in Christ, Satan's attacks become futile.  Any hurt, trial, struggle, hurdle he tries to trip you up with, will only become stepping stones for you to build your faith, and to glorify God.  When you walk with God, HE will be your strength, your peace, and your joy.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I can't get over it, and I am no loger ashamed.  God has saved me by His mercy time and time again, and my family.  So many times I have made poor decisions, or had troubles that could have cost the life of me or my family member, but God kept us all.  I am so thankful, and frankly, happy to be transparent for God.  A little of me says "What will they think, or say to you next time they see you?".  But that is just the fleshly side of me.  My spirit says, "They will only have love for you".  So here it is.

When I was 16 I used to go camping a lot, up around Estacada.  My friends and I would caravan, and race up and down the mountain, and gravel roads.  One time, I was driving about 55-60, and realized we almost overshot our turn.  Me being a silly 16-year-old with few years of driving under my belt, slammed the breaks and hit the corner in the gravel.  The car skidded until it landed head on into a tree.

I restarted the car, backed it up, and went on to our campsite.  MERCY.

I also had unprotected sex in my teenage years, as many of us unfortunately do.  However, I never caught a disease that will affect my future.  MERCY.

When my son was born, his platelet count was so low, he could have gotten a brain hemmorage coming through the birth canal for "my" natural birth.  But he was just fine, and they caught the problem and gave him platelet transfusions before we left the hospital, so he was and is fine.  MERCY.

Millena was baby number 2, and had a higher risk because of the history with Adrian, so I had to have weekly IVIG injections to keep my blood platelets from attacking hers.  I didn't see it as a big deal then, but I see it as a big deal now.  The doctors wanted a cord blood sample around 8 months, to see if she had enough platelets so that I could have "my" natural birth, again.  They couldn't get her cord blood.  I had to have a cesarian.  She needed a transfusion, too.  Yet she is here, and fine.  MERCY.

When I got divorced I plunged into many a drug (including nicotine and alcohol), and spent too many nights faded out of my mind, out of the house.  Sometimes I don't remember getting home.  Sometimes, not even leaving the spot.  I drove often, cause Boo was just as bad.  MERCY.

When Boo came home from that show, Jan 2007 in that real bad ice storm.  He hit a concrete barriar and totaled the minivan.  It wouldn't even drive, nor the sliding door close.  He walked away.  MERCY.

When my back got so bad, 14 months ago that I could no longer function.  Not work, not sit, not even drive.  Everything caused tears for literally a month.  My family did not know who I was.  I did not know who I was.  I couldn't think about anything, but pain, and that my life was over.  Because life in pain is not life at all.

I was led to the practitioner who would begin the physical healing.  I was led to information on health changes, and shown by trying a new lifestyle, in faith that I would get better. Today, I am excited about my future, about exercise, about nutrition, and most of all, about enjoying my health and time as my family grows.  MERCY.

God is the giver of all things.  Think about your life, about when YOU were in a bad place, but someone helped you out.  That someone was God, and He is calling to you!  Praise Him for the times He has saved you by His mercy and grace!  SHOUT IT OUT TO THE WORLD, that ALMIGHTY GOD IS MERCIFUL AND FAITHFUL!  JESUS SAVES!

I'm so grateful for my children!  God teaches me so much, just having these little people in my life to watch my every move... to copy me... to make me think twice about what I do and say :P.  Most of all I am grateful for the opportunity to raise two small Christians.  I had the blessing of praying with both of my children, as they accepted Jesus into their hearts.

Parents:  If you want your children to live and grow in faith in Christ Jesus, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that relationship begins!  I am so thankful for Faithful Savior Ministries, and the staff at the school, who loved and nurtured my children when I could not.  However, once God got me back on the right path - following Him - I knew I needed to "have the talk" with each of my kids.

Millena was easy.  We pray a lot, and she is just seven still, so when I said "Do you want to pray and ask Jesus to live in your heart to stay", she eagerly said yes.  Adrian was not so easy.

There is no secret, Adrian and I have had our issues in the past; I take the blame for most of it, being the parent.  However, I didn't know how to love him right, at first.  I loved him so much!  But not as God does.  I needed God to teach me how He loves, before Adrian would be ready to accept God, and to accept Jesus.

On Thursday when I picked Adrian up, he had had another mediocre day; not getting into super big trouble, but just little things like throwing things across the classroom into the garbage and not staying on task.  Overall, just exhibiting poor choices in behavior, and disrespect towards the teacher, which had been going on for a week straight.  When we got to the car, I asked him if he likes hurting people's feelings.  He said No.  I asked if he wants to continue to do all of the things that get him in trouble.  He said No.  I asked if he liked being in trouble, and having all of his privileges suspended.  He said No.

I asked him if he wanted to change.  He said Yes.  I asked him if he wanted to pray to God for forgiveness.  He said No.  He didn't want God's forgiveness, because he didn't want to forgive himself.  So I forgave him.  Then he asked for God's forgiveness.  Amen.

I asked him if anyone at Faithful had ever prayed with him to accept Jesus into his heart; if anyone at ALL had prayed with him to ask Jesus in his hart.  He said No.  I asked him if he was ready to ask Jesus into his heart to stay.... he said No.

So I told him "I love you, and I always will.  God loves you too, and He forgives you.  But if you want Him to help you change, you have to ask Him to live in your heart to stay.  And, you will have to tell God each thing (action) you are sorry for doing, and ask Him to help you with each one.  But God wants to help you.  So you tell me when you are ready to pray".

We drove home.  Yesterday, I asked Adrian if he was ready to pray.  HE SAID YES!  So we prayed.  This morning, my daughter came in and showed me even more, how powerfully God is working in our family.  My shoulder has rotator cuff problems, and it made me grimace when I reached to hug her.  She immediately prayed.

Little 7-year-old Millena prayed thanks for her mom, prayed that God would heal her shoulder; prayed that we know God can make mom's shoulder feel better, and we ask these things In Jesus Name.  Amen.

I was overwhelmed.  In praying for her, in exercising my faith, in showing her how to overcome situations in her own life through faith and prayer, GOD is using me to raise HIS OWN PRAYER WARRIOR!  I am overwhelmed again just thinking about it.

OK I guess what I'm saying is: You are the most important person in your child's life.  That means you have the most important job, because it is your job to guide your child towards God, and to be an example of how to live for, and serve Christ.  If our children don't learn it from us, who is it we expect them to learn from?

God has AMAZING blessings and adventures in store for you, and for your family.  But it is up to us to go after it ~ to go after HIM!  Start chasing Jesus.  Show your kids how excited you are about Him, about serving Him, about learning about Him.  Give your kids the opportunity to live the MOST fulfilling, MOST blessed life - LIFE IN CHRIST!

He Redeems me daily, from sin, from me... from what worries me.

As soon as I realize I've begun to worry, I can release it.

Christ bears my burdons.  He knows the outcome.

I'm coming Home.

While I'm here there is work to do ~ God is working in and through me.

He doesn't want me to be sickly,

But I had to get sick, so He could heal me.

By His stripes I am healed, you see.

Today is not the end, it is only the beginning.

Beginning of a new future.

New Faith.

New Work.

New Purpose.

New Health.

New Testimony.

I am Brand New!

Patiently Waiting

I am not too sure what to even say, but am just feeling so thankful, grateful and blessed today, to have the honor of calling the LORD God Almighty my Father!  My Daddy.  And, after much time spent giving up on what *I* want, God is beginning to let me see all that He wants for me. The blessings He would give me.  I am learning to patiently wait on the LORD.   Learning to BE patient, taking joy in the moments I have, before it is the time for God to give.

God is the Giver.  Of what?  Everything!  Give up those things you would plan for yourself, and ask to see what GOD wants to give you!  His vision is heavenly!  Then all there is left to do is wait.  Wait with joyful anticipation, expectation, and excitement!   Cease to worry.  Instead, grow your patience!  This world has nothing for you, but God wants to give you the world!

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Psalms 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Micah 7:5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. 7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Victory In Jesus!

Victory in Jesus is not about winning every time.  Victory in Jesus is about seeing past the current struggle, and taking joy that one day it will be behind you.  Victory in Jesus is about taking joy in life, because life is what you make of it; and looking forward to what lies ahead, not what is holding you back, or what has gone wrong.

Victory in Jesus is leaving your needs in God's capable hands, and trusting that there is something to be learned from everything we go through - trial and triumph.  Those who trust in the LORD of Hosts will one day reign victorious, with the King of Kings.

Jesus lives.

Take yo win.
